Gen AI and AI Agent Internship

The Government of India, under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, has initiated groundbreaking reforms in the space sector. These initiatives are designed to enhance and promote defence & space education, research, and developmentacross the nation.

A key highlight is the celebration of National Space Day on August 23, which underscores India's commitment to fostering innovation and scientific excellence in space exploration. In alignment with the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan@2047 , this programme empowers the next generation of innovators, engineers, and scientists to drive India's defence and space technology ecosystem forward.

Internship Overview

The Bharat Space Education Research Centre is pleased to announce the Gen AI and AI Agent Internship, a flagship 6-week intensive online initiative under the Def-Space Education and Innovation programme. across the nation.

This programme is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from universities and colleges, both Government and Private, across all recognised institutions.

This structured autumn internship delivers high-quality, hands-on education in Space Science, Defence Technology, and Emerging Technologies to all candidates. It cultivates innovation, technical proficiency, and career awareness among young learners, advancing India's Viksit Bharat @2047 vision and the Atmanirbhar Bharat commitment to technological self-reliance.

Feeling behind on GenAI?

Everyone seems to be talking about AI agents. If it all sounds like too much, start here. The internship begins with the basics and builds up one idea at a time, until it clicks.

By the end, you'll know where to start, what to ask and how to check the result.

  • Start from zero.No coding knowledge and no prior experience needed.
  • Bring curiosity. That is the only requirement.
  • Advanced, without the overwhelm.Even the advanced topics are taught so they feel easy, one at a time.

Tools change. Your understanding should travel.

Learn what models can do, what context they need and how to check their work. Then apply those ideas across apps, agents and everyday tasks.

  1. Understand the why.

Models, prompts, context and the reasons AI can get things wrong.

  2. See the how.

Live demonstrations that show the full path from a task to a working result.

  3. Build your own.

Assignments that help you practise, adapt and check what you create.

The focus is transferable understanding and practical building—not memorising prompt bundles or collecting tool lists.

Give your new skills something to show for them.

Explore projects for college, careers and everyday work. Watch complete demonstrations, then practise with selected builds and assignments.

Here is everything you'll get to explore.

From your first working app to AI agents that work across your tools. Each topic is either something you practise yourself or something you see done live, so you always know which is which.

Understand AI

Know what is happening behind every answer.

You practise: Models, tokens and contextYou practise: Why AI gets things wrongYou practise: Model, app and agentYou practise: The harness around an agentYou practise: Projects and files, kept organised

Ground it in your sources

Get answers you can trace back.

You practise: Prompts and instructionsYou practise: Context engineeringYou practise: Embeddings and RAGYou practise: Source-grounded study briefsYou practise: Documents, sheets and slidesYou practise: Diagrams and chartsYou practise: Ask AI what to do nextSee it live: Connect your apps (plugins)

Build and share

Turn an idea into something people can use.

You practise: Web appsYou practise: GamesYou practise: Interactive learning pagesYou practise: Visual feedback on your buildYou practise: Testing in a browserSee it live: Hosting and sharingSee it live: Prototype to live appSee it live: Desktop and phone app examplesSee it live: 3D objects

Reuse it and make it reliable

Turn a method that worked into something repeatable.

You practise: Reusable skillsYou practise: Prompt injection and sycophancyYou practise: Evaluation and recoveryYou practise: An end-to-end projectSee it live: Record and replay a workflowSee it live: Connecting to services (APIs)

Some topics are practised, others are demonstrated. Either way, each one is explained from the basics first.

Understand the system. Then put it to work.

The concepts explain what you see in the demonstrations. The assignments help you apply them.

  3. Independent assignmentApply the same ideas to a small problem of your own.
  4. Check and improveTest, correct and document what you made.

The live sessions show how a task is approached and completed. Between sessions, use an assignment to apply the same ideas to a small problem of your own. Keep the output, the instructions you used and the checks you performed.
